Marc Perlish Photography | About

Photography transforms the wonders of our three-dimensional world into two dimensions. I supplant the missing dimension by creating photographs that tell stories, communicate  impressions feelings and ideas. Rich in detail, they also project the beauty and grace of those stories and fleeting moments.

Hi, my name is Marc and I’ve been working in the entertainment industry for over 25 years, first as a musician and for the last 20 years also as a wedding, special event, and studio photographer. I've photographed as an artist for many years (ever since I first picked up a camera and realized what it was capable of doing), and decided to apply my artistic interests and talents to weddings, social and corporate events, concerts and on location projects.

I still continue working on my photographic artwork; one example is a poetic series based around the Evanston landmark bookstore, Bookman’s Alley. Photographs from the series were exhibited at the Evanston Public Library and published in the Columbia College magazine, South Loop Review. You can read about it here.

I also published an iBook “What Will I Find?”, a poetic homage to Bookman’s Alley, with my photographs and original soundtracks created and performed by various artists. You can download the free iBook here.

Other photographs of mine were presented at exhibitions and published in the New York Times, Downbeat magazine, and more. What’s most important is that my art is an integral part of my work and it informs the photography services I provide to all my clients.

I’d love to speak with you and discuss how I can best serve you.

Thanks for visiting!
